Mexican SMEs ride the wave of AI – El Sol de México

Small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in Mexico are already using some Artificial Intelligence application or tool for their business, Microsoft indicated.

As part of the study “AI in micro, small and medium-sized businesses: trends, challenges and opportunities”, Microsoft surveyed more than a thousand companies in Latin America to detect how companies are taking advantage of the technology and detected that in Mexico 57 percent of SMEs They already use AI in some process in their company.

Among the main uses that companies give to AI is in the implementation of virtual assistants for customer service, programs to optimize and automate tasks, as well as to create images or content such as advertising, Microsoft said.

“Business leaders regularly begin the path of experimentation with AI as users to subsequently evaluate the implementation of a business project in their organizations,” commented Roberto Icasuriaga, director of SMEs and Native-Digital Companies for Microsoft Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to Microsoft, interest and investment in artificial intelligence by companies in Mexico grew nine percent last year. Companies that were born in the digital world are the ones that have adopted this technology the most.

The survey indicates that companies can invest up to $20 per month in AI tools, however, it ensures that companies take more advantage of free options.
