Mexican judocas will step on the tatami of the Tbilisi Grand Slam 2024

In their search for points for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, members of the Mexican Judo Team are ready to step on the tatami of the Tbilisi Grand Slam 2024.

This event endorsed by the International Judo Federation (IJF), the governing body of this martial art in the world, will be held from March 22 to 24 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and will bring together 531 competitors from 83 nations around the world.

Among these competitors are five members of the Mexican Judo Team, who are already ready for their first fight.

In this way, the women’s national team is made up of Edna Carrillo, -48 kg, who will face Geronay Whiteboi from South Africa; Paulina Martínez -52 kg, whose rival will be Larissa Pimenta, from Brazil; as well as Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz -63 kg, who will have Savita Russo from Italy as her opponent.

As for the men’s team, it is made up of Arath Juárez, -60 kg, who will face Albert Oguzov, International Neutral Athlete (AIN); in addition to Ulises Méndez, -73 kg, whose opponent will be Igor Wandtke, from Germany.
