In business for 65 years and still today – at 83 years old – with scissors in hand: barber Giancarlo Petrucci awarded
Cna Toscana Centro extends its warmest congratulations to the enterprise of Petrucci Giancarlo, 83 years old, barber and cornerstone of Abetone, still in business and historical associate of Cna Toscana Centro, for having crossed the prestigious milestone of 65 years of activity.
Petrucci was celebrated today with the awarding of a special recognition plaque presented by the president of the Pistoia mountain area Marco Buonomini and by the deputy director Stefano Vivai.
A tenacious entrepreneur since he was just 12 years old, at 18 Petrucci already owned the shop that he still runs today, and he proudly admits, “Cna has always been a point of reference for me from which I have never distanced myself so much. is that for about ten years I also held the position of manager in the Pistoia mountain Cna area”.
It is impossible to count the hundreds of loyal customers who in these 65 years have entrusted their beards and hair to his expert “scissors”, the only tool adopted in his long career always with satisfaction, and among them the champion Moser, the Lazio footballers in the year who won the first championship, and then, entrepreneurs who came to Abetone from Pistoia, Lucca, Pisa and even Empoli, forcing him to open the shop exceptionally even on Sundays.
The barber shop has always been his life, Petrucci, married with two daughters and 3 grandchildren, admits with satisfaction, but in his free time he has not denied himself respectable sporting prizes: from cross-country skiing to long marches in Trentino, from the slopes from Abetone to marathons around Italy, even training at night.
And today at the splendid age of 83, what do you have in store for the future, do you intend to retire? “Obviously not – replies the vigorous Petrucci – I will continue to be a barber forever, at least as long as my hands are firm and steady, to satisfy all my customers”.
