The weekend of March 9 and 10, Marcheprime hosted training for volunteer sports supervisors and a course for the departmental badminton chick selection, the opportunity for the local club to continue the training of its coaches as well as its objective structuring.

This year, the Marcheprimaise Badminton Association has more than 100 members aged from 6 to 70 years old. The club is experiencing great momentum under the leadership of motivated volunteers. “We had several young supervisors who volunteered to follow federal training,” explains the president, Nelly Cantau. We have therefore positioned ourselves to host this training. » Trainer of the Gironde Badminton Committee, Vincent Ellias, thanked the municipality for the reception conditions.

The training that Luka Stradiotti, Armand Houpin and Dimitry Deffay, the three trainees who already supervise the badminton school, have received, allows them to improve their skills and gain confidence. “These young people trained at the club are getting involved and bringing new impetus,” adds the president.

Put into practice

This weekend was also an opportunity for the ten participants in the training to put theory into practice with a selection of 18 young players aged 7 to 10, from all over Gironde. “These are players that we spotted during sets, for their badminton skills but also behavioral skills,” explains Thomas Fouquet, coach at the Gironde Committee.

Three Marcheprime players, Benjamin Bertossi, Brewann Corlouer Savin and Antonin Krug, who regularly participate in competitions, were selected and were thus able to train with the best in their category. “We are a very family-oriented association and we welcome all types of audiences,” concludes the president.

The association plans to expand its offering next season, by offering support from 3 years old and by opening more slots to young competitors and adults looking for improvement.
