Man Arrested for Violent Attack After Company Dumped Him

PORTO VIRO (ROVIGO) – The company dumped him and she returned to live at her parents’ house. He thought well of show up at the front door of their home in the middle of the night holding a baseball bat and to start hitting her as if they wanted her break through and go inside. A violent reaction that certainly did not help the possible rethinking of his ex-partner, not only even more determined to end the relationship definitively, but also terrified by the situation that was created. Inside the house, in fact, the blows against the door caused an unreal silence to descend and real terror to spread. Terror communicated together with a brief but eloquent explanation to the 112 switchboard, which immediately set off a patrol of the Carabinieri of the Adria Company.

INSIGHTS

THE INTERVENTION

It happened in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday and, when the carabinieri arrived on site, they found the man still there with the bat in his hand and in the throes of his fit of anger. An anger that, instead of calming down with the arrival of the men in uniform, was directed towards them. In fact, the man began to rant against the soldiers, insulting them, threatening them and even trying to hit them. A second patrol also intervened on the spot and the four carabinieri managed to stop the man, a 38-year-old Italian resident in Porto Viro, who was arrested for resisting and insulting a public official, but called to answer, again under the accusation hypothesis , even of mistreatment.

AWAY FROM POLESINE

Then, late on Wednesday morning, the man appeared directly before the judge who validated the arrest and, in view of the next hearing, issued against him, as requested by the Rovigo Prosecutor’s Office, the precautionary measure of residence ban in the province of Rovigo, or the prohibition to enter the Polesine territory without the authorization of the judge. An event unfortunately very similar to what happened on Sunday afternoon in Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini in Occhiobello, where a 26-year-old from Stienta first attacked his partner, then, despite the police having intervened, he entered a bar to attack a person who was inside the local and, finally, he also took it out on the police, who arrested him for resisting a public official. All this while in a week’s time, on 8 March, International Women’s Day will be celebrated, a moment in which a serious and profound reflection on the scourge of gender violence, which continues to be terribly recurrent, is always necessary. Because behind these two episodes which occurred a few kilometers apart in the space of three days, both characterized by explosions of uncontrolled and violent anger, which was then also directed towards the police who intervened, the main matrix always remains gender violence.
