Louis Rees-Zammit Signs with Roc Nation Sports: Boosting His NFL Prospects

Louis Rees-Zammit has been handed a further boost ahead of securing a potential NFL contract after it was confirmed that he has signed with Roc Nation Sports.

The agency founded by rapper Jay-Z has rugby stars Siya Kolisi, Maro Itoje, Ellis Genge and Marcus Smith on its books as well as football’s Kevin De Bruyne and Vinicius Jr.

Rees-Zammit, 23, is currently waiting to hear if he has sealed a deal with an NFL team, with Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs apparently an interested party.

Left rugby early this year

The former Wales rugby star opted to quit the sport ahead of this year’s Six Nations as he looked to clinch a move to the NFL via the NFL international player pathway (IPP).

Rees-Zammit has enjoyed the 10-week stint and impressed in the IPP Pro Day, when NFL scouts observe to see if there is any talent they can pick up for their chosen team.

He visited the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns last week, but it also looks as if he caught the attention of Denver Broncos and reigning Super Bowl champions the Chiefs.

Now, in a boost for the NFL hopeful, the former Gloucester wing has inked a deal with Roc Nation Sports, which is another feather in his cap after making the sport switch.

“Roc Nation is thrilled to represent Louis,” said Kimberly Miale, NFL agent from Roc Nation Sports.

Has a compelling story

“He’s a dynamic athlete with a compelling story. We are honoured to be part of Louis’ journey to achieve his dream of playing in the NFL after already establishing an illustrious rugby career.

“I am personally excited to work with Louis on this endeavour. With his athleticism, size, speed and work ethic, the sky is the limit.

“I look forward to watching Louis join an NFL roster and thrive throughout this upcoming season.”

It’s understood the electric Rees-Zammit, who played for the British & Irish Lions on tour in South Africa in 2021, is looking to become a running back, wide receiver or returner.
