Lost Cat Named Kevin Durant Found After Seven Years in Rock Spring, Georgia

Liz Gillespie of Rock Spring, Georgia named her now 12-year-old cat after basketball star Kevin Durant. However, he disappeared seven years ago and has not been seen since. Liz was convinced she wasn’t even alive anymore.

“I live near the woods, so I assumed he’d crossed paths with a coyote, for example. I didn’t think he could survive outside that long, I’ve pretty much given up all hope,” he quoted Liz Gillespie as saying server UPI.

That’s why she was shocked when the animal shelter called her at the beginning of March to come get the cat. Kevin Durant did not cross paths with a coyote nearby, but with a local child. Additionally, after this episode he got to the vets and they found out he had a microchip and was able to contact Liz with it.

At the same time, this incident revealed that Kevin Durant had apparently been living with a group of other stray cats only about a mile from Liz Gillespie’s house for the entire seven years. During the inspection, the veterinarians found only a minor infectious disease of a respiratory nature, but otherwise the stray cat enjoyed excellent health.

Liz was understandably thrilled to meet her pet, but it’s clear from photos of the North Georgia Animal Alliance, where she volunteers, that Kevin Durant wasn’t too pleased.

But he quickly got used to the comforts of Liza’s household. “He is resting a lot and getting reacquainted with his home,” the organization wrote on social media shortly after Kevin’s reappearance.

They thought their cat had gone to die. But then they saw him on TV
