Jihlava defender Jan Strejček will not play in the semi-final series of the Chance League against Vsetín. He will finish the season one floor higher in Litvínov, from where he had arranged a loan to Dukla.

“Honza is a player for Litvínov, where he has a signed valid contract,” Jihlava manager Bedřich Ščerban explains the circumstances of Strejček’s departure.

“At the beginning of the season, he started for Litoměřice and we were very interested in him. However, the condition for allowing starts with us was that Litvínov can withdraw it at any time,” Ščerban describes in an interview for the website hcdukla.cz.

And so it really happened. Albeit at a rather inappropriate moment for Jihlava. “We have to do without him until the end of the season,” confirms Ščerban. “But we are looking forward to working together from the beginning of the next season, because Honza has a contract with us in Dukla from May 1.”

“The condition for allowing starts with us was that Litvínov can withdraw it at any time.”

Strejček played a pivotal role in Jihlava’s progress over Slavia and then Porub: with the ice team 22 minutes and 38 seconds, he was Dukla’s busiest player. He contributed five points (1+4) in seven games to the team’s productivity.

Verva’s call-up of Strejček responds, among other things, to the absence of defender Janis Jaks, who will not play in the four quarter-final matches against Kometa due to a disciplinary penalty.
