A few hours before the game lost against the Nuggets, i Los Angeles Lakers have formalized the signing of Harry Giles III. This was announced on Vice President of Basketball Operations as well as General Manager yellowpurple Rob Pelinka. The 20th pick of the 2020 NBA Draft accepted the two-way contract offered by the California franchise, who cut it to free up the slot needed to sign him Dylan Windler.
This year (born 1998, 208 cm and 108 kg) he played 18 games with the Nets, averaging 3.4 points, 50.0% from the field, 1.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 5.1 minutes per game. The native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina has returned to the NBA after a two-year absence with the hope of relaunching a career troubled by injuries. With the Lakers he will wear the number 20 jersey.

Giles was ranked No. 1 in ESPN’s 2016 high school player rankings, ahead of the likes of Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo e De’Aaron Fox. To the US broadcaster himself, he had declared that at the end of the experience at the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia he would accept the proposal of the prestigious Duke University.
Unfortunately, in the first game of his senior year with Oak Hill he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Injury which was added to the rupture of the meniscus and medial collateral ligament of the left knee suffered during the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Freshman year with i Blue Devils it started with another knee operation, which forced him to miss the first 11 games of the season. In college he played 26 games, averaging 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.
Chosen by the Trail Blazers with the number 20, he joined the Kings in exchange for Zach Collins. In Sacramento he played two seasons (7.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 104 games), before returning to Portland (2.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 38 games). In 2021/22 he played a few games in the G League with the Agua Caliente Clippers, before being cut on January 23, 2022 due to yet another physical problem.
Not having received any calls for summer league or training camps, he reinvented himself as an entrepreneur, founding a transportation company in Lewisville, North Carolina.
Last summer he scored 42 points in a game in the Miami Pro League and he attended workouts in Las Vegas with the Warriors and Jazz, before participating in the Nets minicamp, which allowed him to sign the contract for the current season.

Windler’s stint in Los Angeles lasted less than two months, collecting 28 minutes of garbage time in 8 games. Dylan also played three games with the South Bay Lakersaveraging 11 points and 6.3 rebounds in 27.5 minutes.
