Local Delegations Shine at Styrian Judo Championships

Delegates from Eichfeld, Feldbach and Kirchbach took part in the Styrian Judo Championships in Köflach. The sporting ambition resulted in, among other things, seven championship titles.

KÖFLACH/SOUTHEAST STYRIA. The Styrian Judo Championships for the U12, U16 and U21 classes took place in Köflach. 150 participants from 18 clubs fought for the podium places. The local delegations were also successful again.

Extremely strong U12

Martin Archan, Marie Irandokoye, Johannes Archan and Jaroslav Burzyak-Klymovych from Kirchbach won championship titles in the U12 in their respective classes. Bronze went to Sebastian Liebthat, also from Kirchbach.

Simon Kurzmann (Kirchbach) and Noah Huber (Feldbach) won the championship crown in the U16 age group. There was also silver for Theo Sommer (Feldbach), Patrick Reicht and Xaver Löffler from Kirchbach and Felix Wressnigg from Eichfeld.

And the U16 women? Viktoria Friedl (Feldbach) and her club colleague Laura Groß-Gombotz were happy about bronze. In the U21 age group, Ines Kovacec from Eichfeld won a championship title.

Gangl earned respect in the European Cup

Christoph Gangl from Kirchbach also made a big impression at the U18 European Cup in Porec. In the weight class up to 66 kilograms, which had 65 participants, he fought his way into the top 15 and reached 13th place.
