Liliana Montiel aims for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games qualification in Dubai Event

The Paralympic archer from Baja California, Liliana Montiel, will embark this Tuesday in the pursuit of her dream: to qualify for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, in the world ranking event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Representing Mexico, he will take position on the shooting line under the direction of his coach Manuel Díaz, competing in the Individual Round in the compound bow discipline.

In the Qualifying Round, Liliana Montiel placed 22nd with 631 points; In the Individual Round she will face the Iraqi Sarah Al-Hameed in the round of 32, who placed 11th in the qualifiers.

The winner between Montiel and Al-hameed will advance to the round of 16 to face the winner of the duel between the American Teresa Wallace and the Bangladeshi Joma Akter.

Dubai will award two places in the individual compound bow modality for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, so the finalists will ensure their participation in the next Paralympic event.

As for the Mixed Team modality, Liliana Montiel and the Tamaulipas athlete Gerardo Rodríguez said goodbye in the round of 16, after losing against the Turks Öznur Cüre and Abdullah Yorulmaz by 147-122.
