LIBL Playoff Preview: Top Teams Vie for Championship Title

In the main tournament, teams competed in a two-round tournament, after which the top eight earned a chance to participate in the playoffs.

In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, the winners will be determined in series of up to two victories, but in the final, one match will be played on the court of the team that will be in the highest place in the main tournament.

► Slobojanskas “Prometey” (2nd) – BK “Ogre” (7th)

► “VEF Rīga” (3rd) – Rīga “Zeļli” (6th)

► BK “Ventspils” (4th) – “University of Tartu”/”Maks & Moorits” (5th)

“Ventspils” team leader Ishmaels El-Amin became the most productive player of the main tournament, who averaged 21.13 points per game. In the fight under the basket, the best player in the main LIBL tournament was “VEF Riga” long end player Arnaldo Toro Barea, who averaged 11.95 rebounds per match.

The best men’s basketball clubs of Latvia and Estonia played in a joint championship for the first time in the 2019 season, when 15 teams participated in the competition. “Ventspils” basketball players became the first winners of the league in the final four tournament.

Last season, in the final of the “Final 4” tournament, the basketball players of Slobojanska “Prometey” became the champions.
