It’s impossible not to cite Michael Jordan’s Bulls among the best teams in history. However, LeBron James thinks that His Airness’ squad in the 90s could have been even stronger with a specific player on the team… and that’s not necessarily wrong.

Even today, it is considered the greatest team of all time. The 90s were Chicago’s playground, with the Illinois franchise winning no less than six titles between 1991 and 1998. The second half of the decade in particular saw the emergence of a real steamroller among the Bulls with the trio Michael Jordan – Scottie Pippen – Dennis Rodman.

During their first full season together in 1995-96, the three superstars simply destroyed the league with no less than 72 wins and 10 losses before winning the title. A record that would stand for 20 years, until the Warriors Stephen Curry don’t come and take it. And we then believed him to be untouchable…

Michael Jordan and LeBron James, an unstoppable duo?

Subsequently, the Bulls added two more titles to validate a resounding three-peat and symbol of their outrageous domination. Imperial in defense, merciless in attack, Jordan and others left nothing to their opponents. But for LeBron James who addressed the subject in 2020, this team could have been even better… if he had been part of it.

Jordan’s epic Bird anecdote: ‘That night he showed me I was inferior to him’

I saw what Scottie Pippen could do with Mike. I think with me it would have been even better. Pip was one of my favorite players… It would have been a whole new level if I had been a point forward, if I had been that point forward alongside him during the Roaring Twenties of Chicago.

LeBron alongside Her Majesty? This would clearly be the most unstoppable duo in history. The King also added a layer:

Personally, the way I play – team over everything else – makes me feel like my best assets work perfectly with Mike. Mike is a murderer. When it comes to playing basketball, scoring like he did, all with my ability to pass, my ability to read the game in advance…

If Bron became the most prolific scorer of all time, he never hid being more interested in distribution. He would therefore have been even more focused on passing while MJ would have taken care of scoring en masse. The defensive level would have been a little weaker, but what can we say about the offensive potential of such a squad… especially since LBJ had more than enough assets to play at that time.

LeBron James alongside Michael Jordan at the Bulls? Suffice to say that fans of the franchise would have signed on the spot to have the right to such a duo. The Chosen One having drawn a lot of inspiration from Scottie Pippen to model his game, he could indeed have done wonders in the company of the back.
