Lavia renewed his thigh injury, Chelsea will not help in the season

Roméo Lavia will not be available to Chelsea for the rest of the season, as he recovered from a hamstring injury. The summer signing from Southampton is haunted by bad luck, the 20-year-old midfielder played only 32 minutes after arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Lavia has been recovering from an ankle injury for almost the entire autumn, and when he finally made his debut in his new job against Crystal Palace, he brought on muscle problems for a change.

The Belgian midfielder was supposed to return before the end of the season after a serious hamstring injury, but that is not the case. “Unfortunately, Lavia will miss the rest of the season. A medical examination confirmed that he has re-injured his thigh muscle and will not have time to recover,” the London club said in a statement.

Chelsea paid £58m for Lavia a season ago, so one minute for the talented midfielder, who is under contract until 2030, puts the Blues at a whopping £1.8m.
