SK Rapid II grabbed a point late at the start of the spring Regionalliga East: on the 17th matchday they achieved a 2-2 draw at SR Donaufeld.
The Jung-Hütteldorfers find their first chances to score. Kaygin (15th) misses with a lob, Hedl (31st) heads the ball onto the bar. On the other side, the hosts take the lead with a well-placed long-range shot (45+2).
Rapid II becomes dangerous again in the second half, but Dursun (57th, 68th) is not successful with his attempts. Donaufeld (78th) made it 2-0 after a counterattack.
Late double strike
But the guests’ efforts were rewarded, Mankan (89th) flicked the ball from 18 meters into the top corner – 1:2. Wurmbrand (90+3) actually equalized after a corner.
This means that Rapid II takes back the lead in the table from Kremser SC, which defeated the Wiener Sport-Club 1-0 on Friday (match report >>>). Both teams are at the top with 36 points.
Donaufeld missed out on the duo and is in third place with 31 points.
