The Le Mans club (Sarthe) organizes two competitions each year in May and July. This year, on May 25, it will host the final of the departmental championship for beginners.

The club currently brings together 84 members, women and men, including fifteen young people under the age of 21 and twelve archers with disabilities. Training takes place on the Fontenelles field, in Le Mans, from April to September and at the Molière gymnasium, in Coulaines, from October to March.

A request for a common place

Archers with disabilities train all year round at the Antonnière gymnasium in La Milesse. Even if this gymnasium is suitable for the practice of archery, those responsible for the association deplore the fact that all archers – able-bodied and non-valid – cannot attend the same training places since the Coulaines gymnasium is not suitable for welcoming people with reduced mobility. They therefore renew their request for a common place for all participants.

The para archery section presented very encouraging results at the last French championships in L’Île-Bouchard (Indre-et-Loire): Dominique Desombres, Michel Kervagoret and Xavier Quillet, 1st, 3rd and 4th in the ” challenge – compound bow” and Arthur Bouvet, 4th in the “criterium” category.
