Kyle Kuzma’s 31 Points Lead Wizards to Victory over Kings

WASHINGTON (AP) — Kyle Kuzma scored 31 points and the Washington Wizards ended a five-game losing streak with a 109-102 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday.

Kuzma, who also had six rebounds, missed the Wizards’ previous two games with a shoulder injury. Deni Avdija added 17 points and Corey Kispert had 15 as Sacramento suffered its first loss in its last five meetings with Washington.

Jordan Poole had 14 points for the Wizards.

De’Aaron Fox had 25 points and Malik Monk had 20 to lead the Kings, who fell to 16-8 in games on consecutive nights. Domantas Sabonis had 14 points and 13 rebounds for his 52nd consecutive double-double, but the Kings struggled from 3-point range, making just 11 of 39 3-point attempts.

It took the Kings a while to get going, but they went on a run of 18 straight points in the final minutes of the second quarter and erased the Wizards’ lead 54-36.
