Lippetal – At the European Cup in Pore (Croatia), Klara Erten (world ranking 23), who is based in the Soest district, also took part for Germany among 558 athletes from 23 nations. The Lippetal native fought her way to third place on the podium in a strong international pool and won the bronze medal for Germany in the Soest district.

Klara Erten clearly won the first three fights, against the Slovenian Zarja Mastnak (WRL 135), the Dutch Marlouk Colbers (WRL 87) and the Brazilian Rafaela Rodrigues (WRL 3). She won each with an ippon (instant victory for a judoka).

In the semi-final, Erten had to admit defeat to Monica Martinez de Rituerto Morillas (Spain, WRL 8) due to a stranglehold. In the fight for third place she won against Janka Juttner (Hungary, WRL 26) with two consecutive Wazari with a Hidari-uchi-mata.

Klara Erten once again impressed with her skills and talent on international soil in the IJF (International Judo Federation) and continued her series of successes. The next IJF tournament is on the agenda at the beginning of April, when Klara Erten, also a coach at BSG Benninghausen, will face European competition in the Czech Republic.
