Kim Hyun-Jun Focuses on Enhancing Manseok Park with Barefoot Trekking Path and Sports Facilities

Kim Hyun-jun, candidate for National Assembly member, creates barefoot trekking path and expands sports facilities in Manseok Park

Kim Hyeon-jun (Suwon Gap constituency (Jangan-gu)), People Power Party member of the National Assembly, announced that he plans to create a barefoot trekking course in Manseok Park and improve the facilities to provide a more comfortable and safe park use environment.

Candidate Kim said, “The number of users of Manseok Park has continued to increase since its establishment in 1998, so there is a need to improve its aging facilities and enhance its role as a comfortable healing space by expanding facilities and strengthening safety to meet the needs of residents.”

Currently, Manseok Park is equipped with sports facilities such as walking trails, tennis courts, badminton courts, soccer fields, and foot volleyball courts, as well as convenience facilities such as public parking lots and restrooms. However, some facilities are in need of maintenance due to aging or low use.

Candidate Kim planned to “improve facilities,” “expand safety equipment,” and “improve accessibility” to improve satisfaction with the use of Manseok Park and improve safety.

Candidate Kim plans to “create a barefoot trekking course” in Manseok Park to “improve facilities,” “expand sports facilities,” and “replace old facilities.”

Candidate Kim said, “If we build a barefoot red clay road in Manseok Park, we can create an eco-friendly trail of about 1.5km,” and added, “We will replace old and damaged trails with eco-friendly red clay roads so that citizens can enjoy walking barefoot comfortably in the city.” “He emphasized.

In addition, “Residents’ demand for expansion of sports facilities is increasing, but Manseok Park is managed as a neighborhood park, so additional installation of sports facilities is not possible,” he said. “By changing Manseok Park from a neighborhood park to a sports park, we can provide the sports facilities desired by residents.” “We will expand,” he emphasized.

According to related regulations, facilities in neighborhood parks must be installed within 40% of the park area, while sports parks can be installed up to 50%, so it is possible to introduce additional facilities when changing to a sports park.

In addition, the policy is to collect the opinions of citizens and replace facilities that are already installed but are outdated or underutilized.

Meanwhile, plans to “expand safety equipment” were also announced to ensure comfortable use 24 hours a day for all ages.

Candidate Kim said, “We will install and expand intelligent CCTV in blind spots to prevent crimes, and additionally install LED park lights and emergency bells to strengthen safety.”

To “improve accessibility,” we also planned to “create a barrier-free park,” “expand electric vehicle chargers in the parking lot,” and “provide additional parking space.”

Candidate Kim said, “We will create Manseok Park as a barrier-free park to provide a comfortable environment for both disabled and non-disabled people, while also securing the convenience of electric car users by expanding electric car chargers in public parking lots.”

Candidate Kim said, “As the weather warms up, the number of users of Manseok Park, which is easily accessible from the city center, is increasing,” and added, “We will quickly complete the maintenance of Manseok Park so that people can enjoy a pleasant park culture, while making continuous improvements for citizens.” “We will continue to listen to various opinions,” he said.
