Kansas City Chiefs Making Moves Towards NFL Three-Peat with Marquise Brown Signing

The Kansas City Chiefs were not lying when they said they aspired to become the first to win a three-peat in the NFL in the Super Bowl era because their actions in free agency show that they want to put together the best possible roster for the 2024 season.

In addition to re-signing Chris Jones to the highest salary for a defensive tackle and adding a backup to Travis Kelce in tight end Irv Smith Jr., the Super Bowl LVIII champions have decided to add a wide receiver.

Based on reports from ESPN and NFL Network, the Chiefs have agreed to a one-year contract with Marquise Brown. The University of Oklahoma graduate will receive seven million dollars to play in Kansas City.

The wide receiver became a free agent when his rookie contract with the Arizona Cardinals ended and during that period played 26 games in which he accumulated 1,283 yards with seven touchdowns after catching 118 of the 208 passes thrown in his direction.

The Chiefs are far from defining their roster for the 2024 season. Clyde Edwards-Helaire became a free agent and the AFC West team still needs another running back to accompany Isiah Pacheco.

It is surprising that the team has decided to leave CEH due to its youth (24 years). Among the available free agents are veterans Cordarrelle Patterson and Ezekiel Elliot along with youngsters Cam Akers and Alexander Mattison.
