Excellent results for the Judo Kodokan Cesena sports group which last weekend was full of satisfaction in Bibbiano di Reggio Emilia. Accompanying the athletes were, as usual, maestro Vladimiro Burioli, 7th dan black belt, and the president of the Romagna association Raffaella Molari, 2nd dan.
The Bibbiano event, entitled ‘Playing with Maria Rosa’, represented the penultimate phase of a series of events, which started last October, and which developed month after month in various locations in the region.
Numerous sports clubs were present at the Emilian race with a total number of around 250 young athletes following them. Twenty eager Kodokan members also contributed to reaching this number, eager to compete in the race with other peers.
The event opened at 3.30pm with a greeting from the deputy mayor. Subsequently the young athletes were accompanied to their fighting tatami and the matches refereed by national referees began who for the occasion remained in judogi to allow the children to compete without the fear of officialdom as usually happens in traditional matches.
“This choice – is the comment of the president of the Judo Kodokan Cesena 1966 Raffaella Molari – has the function of helping the kids to better understand the technical dynamics of the judo discipline. By doing so, the young athletes have the opportunity to gradually enter into the spirit of fighting and of the race based on future competitive activity”.
Regarding the matches played, the young judokas from Cesena stood out for their correctness, competence and resolution skills in the fights by administering various ippon (full points or victory).
The Kodokan therefore performed well and the people of Cesena confirmed the effectiveness of the innovative judo method for children that master Vladimiro Burioli assisted by master Moreno Montalti has been practicing for some time. At the end of the fighting, winners and losers were all equally rewarded with a medal.
As usual, the host company then offered a snack to all participants.
The next important event awaiting the Cesena sports club is the Uchi Oroshi trophy which is reserved for athletes.
