Judo in Charente: A Bright Future with Potential for Medals

Judo in Charente is no exception to the rule. He is even in very good health. And the future can be bright. With around fifteen clubs in the Charente department, judo fans are served. Among these clubs, three of them will send young people aged 12 to 13 500 km from here for the French junior cup. With we hope, as many medals as possible.

For the Angoulême judo club, Adrien Gorski Rousseau will be the spearhead. Lots of chances for medals

At the Grand Cognac judo club, the ambition is the same. Three of their judokas will hit the road, heading to the Parisian suburbs with the same objectives. Among the girls, Manon Robertière will fight in less than 40 kg. Third in the regional championship last February, she will act as an outsider. Among the boys, Mael Febvre, in less than 46 kg, and Gabriel Gonat Petit, in less than 34 kg, both on the third step of the podium in the regional championship, will defend the colors of the Cognac club.

For Guillaume Avril, coach at the La Couronne Judo club, Dreja Dester and Alyssa Bugeon “are two real chances of medals”. The first will fight in less than 36 kg. She has already experienced the joy of a national podium, bringing home bronze last year. The second will defend its chances in less than 52 kg. Both champions of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, they will travel to the Parisian suburbs with the hope of bringing home the best medals in their respective category. For their coach “the confidence is great for these two athletes who are really solid”.
