FC Bayern Munich, News: Joshua Kimmich talks about his ambition

Joshua Kimmich from FC Bayern Munich has spoken out about his ambition and countered the accusation that it is too big and sometimes gets in his way. The 29-year-old told Welt am Sonntag: “Actually not, it’s something that is interpreted from the outside. For me, that’s my path. I always had to work hard for everything.”

Kimmich continued: “Of course, too much ambition can sometimes be harmful, but for me it is a virtue that has brought me to where I am today.”

It’s been like this since he was a child: “You know, I was never a high-flyer when I was young. I used to have physical disadvantages and usually started from the second row, so I know what it’s like to fight for something. I benefit from that me today.” His ambition was “inside me, always has been,” he explained.

Kimmich therefore doesn’t want to change his approach or style in the future: “With regard to us football professionals, we often talk about role models and then it’s usually about characters, about types. For me, I turn the tables in the debate and try not to worry about it about what people might expect from me.” Because, says Kimmich: “I don’t want to please people in a way that isn’t mine. I want to be who I am. I’m aware that sometimes I might offend, but that’s not worth it to me to adjust.”

Kimmich was and is always the subject of discussions. Recently there have been some rumors about a possible early departure from Munich. He had now commented on this too.
