Latvian motor sportsman Pauls Jonass achieved the 11th fastest time in the MXGP class competition in the qualification of the Spanish “Grand Prix” of the World Motocross Championship on Saturday.
“Standing Construct Honda” driver Jonass started qualifying in 12th place. In the third lap he dropped a place, but in the fourth he regained the 12th position, in the seventh lap he moved up a place and finished in the 11th place.
The fastest in qualifying was Spaniard Jorge Prado (“GasGas”), who beat Slovenian Tim Gajser (“Honda”) by 13.320 seconds and Frenchman Maxime Renault (“Yamaha”) by 16.278 seconds.
The races of the Spanish “Grand Prix” will take place on Sunday at 14:15 and 17:10 Latvian time. It should be reminded that Jonas won the fourth place in the first stage of the season in Argentina.
In the previous season, Prado won the overall standings, leaving Fevre and the Swiss Jeremy Siever behind, but Jonas finished 19th with several injuries.
