Face-to-face and online race, in response to the Earth Hour campaign

This Saturday, March 16, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce launched a face-to-face and online race, in response to the Earth Hour 2024 campaign. The objective was to encourage the economical use of electricity.

The event took place at 6:00 a.m. this Saturday morning, March 16, at Thông Nhât Park in Hanoi. Present, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nguyên Sinh Nhât Tân, returned to the significance of the event…

“This race, which brings together more than 1,500 professional and amateur athletes, will help encourage the economical use of electricity. We hope that all residents and all businesses throughout the country will work together to save energy in order to to achieve net zero emissions in 2050,” he said.

The race is also organized online, from this Saturday March 16 at noon to Sunday March 31 at midnight, using the Uprace application.

2024 is the 16th year that Vietnam participates in the Earth Hour campaign. Last year, as part of this campaign, the lights were turned off for one hour, saving 298,000 kWh, the equivalent of 555 million VND.
