Jimmy Garoppolo Signs One-Year Deal with Los Angeles Rams: Contract Details Revealed

Jimmy Garoppolo will continue his NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams after an unsuccessful year with the Las Vegas Raiders that ended with a two-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The contract with the Rams is for one year, but the financial details of the agreement had not been revealed until now. According to the NFL Network report, Garoppolo’s base salary will be $4.5 million, but he could reach $12 million if he meets certain incentives.

With this contract, the Rams have an insurance policy in case veteran Matthew Stafford suffers a serious injury in the upcoming NFL season.

How much money has Garoppolo made in NFL contracts?

In 10 seasons as a professional, Garoppolo has earned $148 million, most of which was earned with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Spotter.

His rookie contract, signed after being drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 2014 Draft, was four years in exchange for $3.483 million. Of that total, the AFC East team paid him 3.07 million because in the last year he traded him to San Francisco.

The Niners took over the last portion of his rookie contract and in February 2018 agreed to a five-year, $137.5 million extension. Of that total, San Francisco only paid $122.2 million due to restructuring and an extension to alleviate the impact on the salary hit.
