“Today the footballer was discharged, retiring to his private home to continue with relative rest,” the club reported on social networks.
Barely 10 days have passed, but the shock that the Chilean soccer player caused when he collapsed on the playing field in the unfinished match against Boca at the UNO Stadium seems to be far away, when both teams were equalizing without emotions.
The fall became worse when Altamirano did not react and had some symptoms of seizure while he was on the grass, so the doctors and then the ambulance had to enter the field to assist the footballer.
Seconds later, he was taken by ambulance to a medical center, where he regained consciousness and was kept under observation.
Although he will not be able to forget what happened even if he is at home, the good news for the midfielder is that he will continue to be monitored away from the hospital and from the comfort of his home with the affection and company of the Estudiantes team.
The episode that Altamirano suffered was the result of a “thrombosis of the superior longitudinal sinus” in the brain and that generated the convulsive condition that shocked Argentine soccer, according to specialists.
