Jannik Sinner has been in Indian Wells in the USA for a week. The Sesto superstar’s first match will soon be on the program. Before that there was a sweet encounter.

Almost three weeks have passed since the last Jannik Sinner appearance. On February 18th, he clearly triumphed in two sets in the final in Rotterdam against the Australian Alex De Minaur and was thus named the new number 3 in the world. Now Sinner is challenged at the first Masters 1000 tournament of the season: In Indian Wells he wants to do everything he can to keep his clean slate. This season, Sinner has won every tournament he has competed in: first it was the Australian Open, then the tournament in Rotterdam.

In Indian Wells, Sinner enjoyed a bye in the first round. Now it is known who he will face at the start: it is the Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis. The world number 99 prevailed in the first round against the US boy Marcos Giron (ATP 48) in two sets. Kokkinakis has competed against Sinner three times so far and was defeated three times.

A fan filmed the scene in which Sinner and Rafa Junior (he is one and a half years old and has the same name as his dad) are kicking something with a ball. A really sweet encounter. On Thursday it was announced that Nadal would not be able to take part in the tournament in Indian Wells due to injury.
