Janikowski blurted out about a rematch with Pawlak. “We are in the starting blocks”

At the beginning of February, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in London, together with the co-owner of KSW, Martin Lewandowski, appeared on the Sport.pl LIVE program, where they agreed on the next fight. – I think this is his destiny – said Lewandowski regarding the Pawlak – Janikowski rematch.

Janikowski also confirmed these words in Thursday’s program.Frame by frame“. – Martin assured me that this fight will take place. There is no exact date, but we are already getting ready. We are in the starting blocks to move at full speed – he said. He added that the fight will most likely take place in June or July. – If I had to wait longer, my break would be too long, he explained.

The 34-year-old had his last fight in December, when he sensationally defeated the former contender for the belt, Tomasz Romanowski (18-10). Immediately, fans began to imagine him as the new middleweight champion.

– I never dreamed about the belt, I only thought about winning the fight. Until I get it, I won’t realize how valuable this trophy is. If this can be done, it will be something to remember in old age that the Olympic medalist became the KSW champion – he said. He also addressed fans who often disparaged his skills. – I think that by now there would be people who wrote that I only fought with cucumbers – he said.

Finally, he revealed that at the beginning of 2019, after his second defeat in a row, when he was brutally knocked out by Aleksandar Ilić (15-6), he experienced the most difficult moment in his MMA career so far. – I went to see him after losing to Michał Materla and he was an average player at the time. Sometimes it happens that someone loses two or three fights in a row and immediately the sponsors leave, the coaches change, the federation is no longer interested in you. Fortunately, this was not the case and I got back on track, he concluded.
