James Harden’s Return to Philly: From Foe to Friend

It’s hard to remember that the current season began with James Harden still a Sixers player. In the summer, La Barba was the protagonist of a new transfer request, filled with statements against Daryl Morey and insults to the team during the training camp. However, after playing his first game against those who until not so long ago were his teammates, Harden only found good words. “We don’t take it personally,” says Tyrese Maxey. «When he came to training [en pretemporada] “It was nice to be with him.”

The Sixers point guard, the great architect of last night’s victory at Crypto.com, continues to maintain a close relationship with Harden. The one he calls ‘brother’ and with whom he regularly shares conversations. Although he is not the only one who has good memories of him. “He’s a tremendous player and I’ve always respected him,” said Tobias Harris. «I like to see him enjoy playing in Los Angeles. “It was a huge honor to play alongside him.”

Nick Nurse, who was unable to coach him in a single game, preferred to tiptoe: “It seems like an eternity has passed. “I don’t think anyone is still angry at this point.” Perhaps that should be asked of Joel Embiid and the Sixers fans, with whom Harden will face off next Wednesday in Philly. And we already know how the local fans receive their ‘fugitive heroes’.
