Jalen Williams: “Sky is the Limit!”

The Thunder’s jewel has almost no weaknesses, and Warriors legend Draymond Green agrees: “He’s something special. The guy can throw, he can pass, he can dribble, he can finish, he can defend. He has a great one Size so he can guard multiple positions. He’s athletic. He’s great in the pick-and-roll. Jalen Williams is special.” Green gave the Thunder star an “over/under of two years until he’s an All-Star. I’ll take the under. He’s a problem.” Despite the draft doubts, Williams gets to the basket almost at will and has also worked meticulously on finishing.

However, Williams still needs to work on one thing: Without SGA on the field, line-ups with J-Dub have a plus/minus of -1.8. Williams has every ability to function as a primary ball handler, but he still has to prove that. The upcoming play-off experience will certainly help.

With Chet Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Williams complements each other almost perfectly, and the Thunder have (once again) found their trio of the future. And if Williams continues to develop month after month, then the ceiling is limitless. “Sky is the limit for him, he will be a star in this league for a long time,” says SGA. Then J-Dub is more than just number three for the Thunder, much more…

SGA may be the superstar and Holmgren the high pick that makes this team strong, but drafting Williams at No. 12 was a decision that would make OKC one of the best teams in the NBA for years to come, a cherry on top the cake.
