A few months ago the return to the octagon of the great UFC star Conor McGregor seemed almost imminent. The Irish fighter has been retired from competition for almost three years. On July 10, 2021, he was seriously injured during his third fight against the American fighter Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 and since then he has not stepped into the octagon to compete. His return was initially scheduled for 2023, when he starred alongside former Bellator champion Michael Chandler in season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. The idea was that the wrestler reality show would conclude with the confrontation between the two, but for the moment that fight has not occurred.
