Italy’s Archery Team Competing in European Indoor Championships in Croatia

Mantua Once the indoor Tricolore challenges were over, Italy left on Sunday afternoon by bus directly from the Pordenone Fair to reach Varazdin, Croatia, where the European Indoor Championships are being held. This is the first international trip of 2024 for the Azzurri and also the last relevant match before the start of an intense outdoor season. The indoor continental event returns after last year’s event in Samsun was canceled due to the terrible earthquake that shocked Turkey. The last edition held is therefore that of 2021 in Lasko, Slovenia, with Italy flying to the podium 12 times, taking second place in the medal table. In total there are 32 Italians competing. In the senior Olympic arch, in the women’s category we find Tatiana Andreoli, Lucilla Boari from Rivaglia and Chiara Rebagliati, all bearers of the Fiamme Oro. The girl from Mantua arrives at this event on the strength of the Italian class title won in Pordenone, but in the Assoluto she left the scene in the round of 16. Rebagliati won the qualifications held yesterday with 584 points, sixth position for Lucilla with 577 and eighth for Andreoli with 571. In the team competition, the Italians took second position with 1732 points, six less than Ukraine. Today the individual preliminaries begin and the Italians’ opponents in the round of 16 will be Gvinchidz (GEO) for Andreoli and Brkic (SRB) for Boari, while Rebagliati has yet to know the name of her challenger. The Olympic women’s team has already qualified for the semi-final and will face Moldova on Friday.
