Italian Judo Team Competes in Back-to-Back Grand Slam Tournaments in Antalya

From one Grand Slam to another without even returning home. After the appointment in Georgia last week, with the splendid bronze of Asya Tavano and the subsequent training camp in Tbilisi, the Italian team is preparing to face the Grand Slam which, from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st, will take place in Antalya, in Turkey.

The competing team is made up of Andrea Carlino and Angelo Pantano in the 60 kg, Elios Manzi in the 66 kg, Edoardo Mella and Manuel Parlati in the 73 kg, Antonio Esposito in the 81 kg, Gennaro Pirelli in the 100 kg, Assunta Scutto in the 48 kg, Odette Giuffrida in the 52 kg, Thauany David Capanni Dias and Veronica Toniolo in the 57 kg, Flavia Favorini and Savita Russo in the 63 kg, Martina Esposito and Irene Pedrotti in the 70 kg, Giorgia Stangherlin in the 78 kg and Asya Tavano in the +78 kg.
Alice Bellandi, Manuel Lombardo and Christian Parlati, already qualified for Paris 2024, will also participate in the subsequent training camp, as well as Francesca Milani and Matteo Piras.

As demonstrated by the 628 participating judokas, the points up for grabs are very important: both for those who have yet to gain the Olympic pass and for those who have already qualified and aim to be among the top seeds.

  • Friday 29 March – F -48, -52, -57 kg; M -60, -66 kg

Antalya Judo Grand Slam: where to watch it live on TV

The final stages of the Antalya Grand Slam will be broadcast live on Rai Play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These are the Italian times, taking into account the time zone and the introduction of summer time in Italy on the night between Saturday and Sunday:

  • Friday 29th – live Rai Play – from 3pm
  • Saturday 30th – live Rai Play – from 3.00pm + delayed Rai Sport from 6.00pm
  • Sunday 31st – live Rai Play – from 4pm
