Isaiah Thomas signs ten-day contract with Phoenix Suns

Isaiah Thomas and the Phoenix Suns have apparently agreed to a 10-day contract, Shams Charania (The Athletic) reports. The 35-year-old recently showed his continued skills as a scorer in four G-League games; for Salt Lake City he put up 32.5 points and 5.3 assists on 40.7 percent from the field and 44.6 percent from downtown on.

His last appearances in the NBA came in April 2022 for the Charlotte Hornets, where he contributed 8.3 points on 43.3 percent from the field and 39.7 on three-pointers in 17 appearances. In the same season he also played one game with the Dallas Mavericks and four games with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Thomas was a two-time All-Star with the Boston Celtics and even received the fifth-most votes in MVP voting in 2016/17. At that time, he excelled with 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game on 46.3 percent from the field and 37. 9 percent for distance throws. His biggest drawback has always been his defensive vulnerability; he is only 1.75 meters tall.
