Is LeBron James the Reason Behind Tristan Thompson’s Doping Suspension?

By Adiel Kalonji | NBA Editor

A few weeks ago, Tristan Thompson was suspended by the league for testing positive for a doping test. But surprisingly, a former star made the link between LeBron James and the use of these illicit substances on the part of the Cavaliers player.

For several games now, the Cavaliers have had to do without Tristan Thompson. Indeed, following his failed anti-doping test, the interior received a 25-match suspension. It’s an event that doesn’t necessarily do the Cavaliers’ business given their ambitions, even if their excellent regular campaign within the conference might suggest otherwise.

Aged 32, the pivot is closer to the end than the beginning of his career. However, several major players in the league are now over 35 and competing with rising stars who are still in their 20s. LeBron James is obviously a perfect example with his 39 years. But according to Jeff Teague, the longevity of the latter would be the reason which pushed the Canadian to take drugs.

LeBron, the cause of Tristan Thompson’s doping?

We are lucky to see arguably the greatest player of all time. I mean to do what he does in this way… He’s 39 now, it’s really crazy. Gilbert Arenas raised an important point. The criticisms we didn’t give to Mike (Jordan) when he was playing at the same age, and we are criticizing Bron, yet he does much better than what Jordan did.

When we see what Bron is doing and what the other players have done at 39, we say to ourselves that this guy is sick. Tristan tried to keep up with LeBron, that’s why he resorted to doping. Whatever dose it was, he took it well…

Although the topic related to Tristan Thompson’s doping, the former Hawks’ statement led to another question that Gilbert Arenas had raised.

It is true that LeBron’s athletic qualities go against the imagination. This also serves as an argument for some in the GOAT debate. If for Jeff Teague, there is no doubt that the Lakers superstar is the greatest player to have ever stepped on the court, the former Wizards thinks that this title goes more to Michael Jordan, even if he had praised the longevity shown by the King.

When Michael Jordan was playing with the Wizards and he brought all these veterans to try to win games, they were supposed to make the playoffs. When they lost, no one talked bad about Michael Jordan. Nobody said anything. So why not do the same for LeBron James at 39? Why was he expected to win when the GOAT didn’t?

The use of doping products is an act obviously prohibited by the league. In this regard, Tristan Thompson was also suspended. But according to Jeff Teague, the incredible longevity of LeBron James is one of the reasons why the Cavs center illegally tried to push his limits. Is dared…
