Inter Miami Secures Quarter-Final Spot in CONCACAF Champions Cup with Win Over Nashville

KOMPAS.com – Inter Miami beat Neshville on leg second round of 16 CONCACAF Champions Cup 2024 on Thursday (14/3/2024) morning WIB.

Duel Inter Miami vs Nashville at Chase Stadium ended with the score 3-1 thanks to goals Luis Suarez (8′), Lionel Messi (23′), dan Robert Taylor (63′).

The Herons’ opening goal, nicknamed Inter Miami, came from the movement of one of their players on the left side, who then passed the ball to Suarez.

Suarez let the ball roll and tricked the Nashville player marking him. The round skin headed towards Messi.

The megastar aka La Pulga then returned it to Suarez who was already running into the penalty box. Suarez then fired a finishing shot into the corner of the goal.

Waiting in the middle of the penalty box, Messi, who received the ball from Diego Gomez, fired a left foot shot which Nashville goalkeeper Joe Wills failed to block.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami’s third goal was created from Luis Suarez’s pass which was met by Robert Taylor’s header in front of the goal.

Nashville actually had a goal in the 80th minute thanks to Hany Mukhtar, but VAR pointed him out offside and the goal was disallowed.

Sam Surridge was able to break the deadlock on Nashville injury time. However, the goal came too late for Nashville who was trying to catch up.

The result at Chase Stadium saw Inter Miami qualify for the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup with a 5-3 aggregate win.

Inter Miami and Nashville previously shared a draw with a score of 2-2 on leg First. A pair of Nashville goals at that time were scored by Jacob Shaffelburg.

Meanwhile, the Herons’ two goals were also scored by Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
