Winning debut for Camila Giorgi at the Indian Wells tournament: the Marche native, now number 109 in the WTA ranking, beat the English Katie Boulter (n.27) 6-3, 6-2, thus interrupting the negative series of four defeats beginning of the year. The victory comes against a highly rated opponent who won the WTA 500 tournament in San Diego last week.
The Italian will now challenge the Czech Linda Noskova, seeded number 26 in the Californian tournament.
