Inclusive Basketball without Limits Program Launched by Valverde City Council for People with Disabilities and Children

Editorial/The City Council of Valverde, develops between May 21 and 31, the “Inclusive Basketball without Limits Program” aimed at people with disabilities, children enrolled in primary school at the CEIP Valverde and in the Unitary Schools of the municipality, in order to promote the sports practice of basketball as a tool for social integration.

The project is promoted by the Department of Social Services in collaboration with the Canarian Basketball Federation.

The council has reported that through this initiative it aims to promote social inclusion in a normalized environment, enhance self-esteem, improve physical condition and introduce healthy sports habits into people’s lives, transmitting the values ​​of responsibility. , discipline, respect and tolerance and promoting interpersonal relationships, to improve the quality of life of the people participating in this program.

Derived from this initiative and in order to guarantee its continuity, the Sports Department of the Capital City Council has announced the training of three people as basketball coaches, seeking to strengthen the program and provide professional development opportunities.

The activities take place at the Tamaduste Sports Center, in the municipality of Valverde, every Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for 3rd and 4th grades; from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for 1st and 2nd grades of Primary and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for 5th and 6th grades of Primary.

The Councilor for Social Services, Cristina Brosed, invites everyone to join the program next Thursday, April 4.
