IES La Orden Badminton Club Advances to the Finals After Defeating CB Arjonilla 6-1 in Semifinals

Huelva, March 24 (EFE).- The IES La Orden Badminton Club, current League champion and European runner-up, will fight for its ninth League title after defeating CB Arjonilla 6-1 in the semifinals of the competition.

The Huelva club IES La Orden won two of the doubles duels and lost another and then won the four singles matches. Pablo Abián and Haideé Ojeda won the mixed doubles 11-10, 11-4 and 11-7 against the duo formed by Juan Blas Villalta and Carmen Lara. In the women’s doubles, Haideé Ojeda and Laura Santos defeated Sonia Martínez and Cristina Teruel by 11-6, 11-7 and 11-3.

Arjonilla closed the gap and made it 2-1 by winning the men’s doubles. Joan Monroy and Ernesto Baschwitz beat Javier Suárez and Alejandro Pérez in a tight duel 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 6-11 and 10-11.

In the individual duels, the Portuguese Telma Santos established the 3-1 for IES La Orden by defeating Sonia Martínez 11-7, 11-9 and 11-7, and the Italian Christopher Vittoriani secured the victory by beating Tomás Toledano by 11-9, 11-8 and 7-11 and 11-6.

The Hungarian Vivien Sandorhazi also beat Cristina Teruel (11-8, 11-4 and 11-2) and Pablo Abián against Ernesto Baschwitz rounded off the final victory by 6 by 11-10, 11-7 and 11-6 -1. EFE
