Despite two defeats in a row, the Oilers are on course for the playoffs as second in the Pacific Division.

Rangers get their ticket to the playoffs

On the other hand, Moritz Seider, who with his Detroit Red Wings had to accept a 3:4 defeat after overtime against their direct rivals Washington Capitals, has to fight. Lukas Reichel managed a 3-1 win against the Calgary Flames with the Chicago Blackhawks, but the playoffs are out of reach for Reichel and Co.

This also applies to Nico Sturm and the San Jose Sharks, who lost 3:6 to the Dallas Stars. Meanwhile, the New York Rangers were the first NHL team to book their ticket to the championship round with a 6-5 win after overtime against the Philadelphia Flyers.
