About eighty files (photos, screenshots) were sent to journalists and F1 men: they allegedly contain sexual conversations between Horner and the Red Bull employee
Christian Horner was cleared in an internal investigation into his involvement after an employee’s allegations. The verdict arrived on Wednesday with a decision from the top management of Red Bull in Austria at the end of an investigation conducted by independent lawyers.
But his enemies did not give up: at 6.19pm today, Thursday (4.19pm in Italy), during the second free practice of the Bahrain GP, an anonymous address sent an email with a link to a virtual hard disk which supposedly contains screenshots of the conversation between the head of the F1 world champion team and the employee and also some photographs. There are around eighty files, the exchange of messages is intense, but it is currently impossible to verify whether the conversations have been tampered with or whether they are authentic. For this reason we prefer not to report its contents.
In addition to the Corriere and a large number of F1 journalists, the email was sent to F1 president Stefano Domenicali, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, and almost all the team principals of the other teams. Horner’s lawyers immediately took action to send warnings to publish the material.
the latest attack in a no holds barred war for control of Red Bull, at this point the FIA and F1 have the material in their hands and could decide how to move in the next few days. Qualifying starts tomorrow, the atmosphere remains very tense and the poisons continue to spread in the paddock and outside. Horner, stopped in Sakhir, limited himself to a brief comment: I will not respond to anonymous attacks, I continue to demonstrate my innocence. We are focused on the race and continue to do so and I will be here tomorrow as I have to.
