The Quintana Roo gymnast Helena Cárdenas Valencia once again shone in an international competition, after winning a total of four medals (one gold, one silver and two bronzes) during her participation in the second edition of the Trisome Games 2024, a competition for athletes with down syndrome, which he had was carried out in the city of Antalya, Turkey.
Helena once again traveled to a sporting event representing Mexico and her state Quintana Roo and on this occasion she returned with good results, reaffirming her quality as an athlete. On this occasion, the young gymnast from the municipality of Benito Juárez earned a bronze medal in the all-around (total points), placing third overall in the junior category competition.
It should be noted that this total result obtained by Helena was due to her great performance in the different tests of the competition, since in the jumping test she won a gold metal; Later, in her participation in the bars she obtained a silver medal; and she closed her participation by achieving a bronze on the beam.
The Trisome Games, in addition to being a sports competition, aim to promote the holding of competitions for athletes with down syndrome, so it was an athletic festival, where activities were also carried out for the disciplines of athletics, basketball, futsal, judo, artistic swimming, table tennis and tennis.
