Hämmerle came sixth at the Cross World Cup in Canada

Alessandro Hämmerle was unable to repeat his two most recent home successes in the Snowboard Cross World Cup in Montafon on Canadian soil. The 30-year-old from Vorarlberg took second place in the “small final” on Saturday in Mont-Sainte-Anne and thus came sixth overall.

Overall World Cup winner Eliot Grondin celebrated a home win ahead of Australian Cameron Bolton and Czech Radek Houser. Another race follows on Sunday (5 p.m.).

Hämmerle came sixth as the best ÖSV athlete

Jakob Dusek failed in the quarterfinal run with Hämmerle in third place and came ninth, Julian Lüftner came in 17th. Pia Zerkhold was the only Austrian in the women’s competition, the 25-year-old from Lower Austria finished twelfth. The British Charlotte Bankes triumphed ahead of the French Chloe Trespeuch and Lea Casta. A five-way battle to win the overall ranking has turned into a duel. Trespeuch is comfortably ahead of Bankes (657) with 742 points.
