Sonja Berr traveled to Frankfurt/Oder as South German champion. And was successful there too

Grafing – More than a respectable success for the Grafinger young athlete Sonja Berr. With the South German championship title in her luggage, she drove to the German championship in Frankfurt/Oder with a lot of self-confidence and motivation.

Sonja Berr only had to admit defeat in the semifinals

In the first round the luck of the draw was on their side (bye). In the first fight she prevailed against Emilia Meffert (Mönchengladbach) with a hold after two minutes of fighting time. After just one minute she beat Bente Wiegratz from TS Einfeld and faced Nele Noack from UJKC Potsdam in the semi-finals.

The exciting fight initially went into overtime without a score (“Golden Score”). After more than six minutes of fighting, Sonja Berr lost the fight due to three punishments (“Shidos”). Nele Noack then became German champion.

Due to the defeat in the semifinals, Sonja Berr fought for the bronze medal against Irina Kreidin (PSV Olympia Berlin). With her special floor technique, she prevailed after three minutes and instead of being well-deserved and overjoyed on the “staircase”.
