According to The Information, meta developers are seeking to “relax” their AI tool so that it can provide context to a query that is considered controversial.

This announcement comes just days after Google announced a pause on the imaging feature on its Gemini AI platform after it produced historical images with racial inaccuracies.

The current version of Meta’s AI, Llama 2, powers chatbots on the company’s social networks but refuses to answer controversial questions, such as how to prank someone, how to win a war or how to turn off the engine. a car, among others.

The new version, meanwhile, will be able to understand these types of questions with greater context, such as the fact of “how to turn off the engine of a vehicle” with the understanding that it is about turning it off and not ending its life.

Additionally, the technology company announced that it will soon appoint a manager to oversee security tone and training as part of its efforts to make AI model responses more nuanced.

At the same time that Meta announced this new version of its AI, the company’s CEO held meetings with the South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol, and the Japanese prime minister, Fumio Kishida, as well as the directors of LG and Samsung to establish collaborations about this technology.

The South Korean government reported that the portfolio of smart and wearable devices as well as smart vehicles being developed in the Asian country offers a good platform for Meta’s AI technology.

“They discussed the vision for creating open AI and digital ecosystems and how to strengthen cooperation between Meta and our companies,” Yoon’s policy chief Sung Tae-yoon said in a briefing.

In Japan, Zuckerberg informed the media that in his meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister the future of AI, its regulation and the infrastructure for its development were discussed.
