Gmunden moves up to second place in the Superliga

Klosterneuburg is still in first place in the men’s basketball super league, behind which Gmunden is now the first pursuer. While the recently stumbling Dukes clearly won the Lower Austria derby against SKN St. Pölten on Sunday with 91:68, the Swans benefited from a defeat by the Flyers Wels in Traiskirchen. While Gmunden won against UBSC Graz with 77:63, Welser lost after extra time with 71:77. Traiskirchen is now the new third place.

In the qualifying round, the leading Oberwart Gunners shook off BC Vienna with a 79:53 in Vienna. The Bulls from Kapfenberg, who were tied for second place with Burgenland, won against Fürstenfeld with 100:91. The Vienna Timberwolves won against the BBC Nord Dragonz 104:98.
