Transfers: PSG makes a bet and hits the jackpot!

While the team was coming out of a Champions League final and semi-final with Keylor Navas in goal, PSG decided to recruit Gianluigi Donnarumma. Gradually, the Italian inherited the position of number one goalkeeper. And although he encountered some sporting difficulties, Donnarumma does not regret his choice and intends to return it in the long term to Paris Saint-Germain.
In the summer of 2021, and while Keylor Navas had been extended until June 2024 a few weeks earlier, the Paris Saint–Germain made a bet on the transfer window. Indeed, Gianluigi Donnarumma had made the decision not to extend his contract atAC Milan and therefore landed for free within the Parisian club to the great displeasure of Navas who was gently pushed towards the sidelines and is heading towards the exit more than ever now.
“My first season was not easy because I was discovering a new country”
Holder for the purposes of PSG since the appointment of Christophe Galtier in the summer of 2022, Gianluigi Donnarumma declared his love for Paris Saint-Germain during an interview with Nice-Matin although he encountered difficulties at the club sportingly. “I always try to give myself for this club. I am happy to wear this jersey in every match. My first season was not easy because I discovered a new country, a new club and another language, but everything is different today. I have completely adapted and integrated into PSG.”
“I want to stay in Paris for quite a few more years”
As for his future, and while there has been talk of a possible departure in the press, Gianluigi Donnarumma doesn’t want to know anything: it will be PSG and nowhere else, he who is contractually linked to the club until the summer of 2026. “Ligue 1 is a championship which offers a lot of pace. Those who haven’t played it can’t know. I improved with the goalkeeper coach (Borja Alvarez Buedo). I feel a lot of confidence in myself and I hope to continue to have a great season. I want to stay in Paris for quite a few more years.” The message has gotten through.
