What is your favorite sport?

Judo, snooker… and ICE HOCKEY

Today I would like to get you excited about my favorite sport, because the World Cup is taking place again from May 10th to May 26th.

You should not miss that!

Ice hockey – undoubtedly a beautiful sport – but one that needs to be understood – that, don’t worry, comes with time. But that’s exactly what’s beautiful and exciting about it, in addition to the regulations regarding the structure around the playing field, i.e. what the height of the boards, the protective glass, the lines of the goals and much more… it never gets boring!

Ice hockey is easy for everyone!

The sport thrives on its dynamism and is the fastest team sport in the world!

So here are a few facts first-
The most important “man” on the field in all sports is the referee, the referee, the referee, NO REF NO GAME! They master around 40 different hand signals and various rule violations. There are two linesmen and two referees on the ice (red arm bandage).

In ice hockey, the duration is divided into three periods of 20 minutes each, net and without extra time. Between these thirds there is a break for the players (15 minutes) and the ice is prepared. The sides are changed. (DEL-18 min) Additional 90sec. Every third is added as a “power break”. (Exceptions if the goal is too previous or icing) The clock is stopped at every interruption. If there is a tie after 60 minutes, there is overtime (extra time). If there is no result, the game goes to the shootout, the penalty shootout.

The playing field – max. 61m length, 30m width, min. 56m length and 26m width. (Rounded corners – from 7.0-8.5m radius) – The five lines divide the playing field: The red line (center line) bisects the field – this is where the game “Bully” (face-off) begins; After every goal or and the beginning of each third. The two blue lines divide the field into three zones – attack, neutral zone and defense zone. Two further red lines intersect the goal and serve as orientation (icing lines).
The field has a total of nine face-off points – these are where the puck can find its way back into play if play has been interrupted.

The game is played with five field players and one goalkeeper per team on the field, with a total of 20 field players and two goalkeepers. The goalkeeper can be replaced by a field player in certain game situations. The field player can be distinguished – attackers: center forward (center) and “left/right wings” (winger); Defender. The players play on the fly.

The aim is that the hard rubber disc; the PUCK arrives in the opponent’s goal. Each player has an ice hockey stick that they play with and keep the puck moving.

If a player behaves contrary to the rules, the referee can issue small 2-minute time penalties against the team (the player must leave the field for this period – penalty box -); 5min-with game-time disciplinary penalty, possibly game suspension; (10min – disciplinary penalty, match penalty, suspension…here a substitute player has to serve 5min penalty time) during these penalty times the team plays outnumbered.
