German Tennis Players Shine in Miami: Four Germans Advance to Third Round at ATP Masters

Four Germans in the third round: Jan-Lennard Struff (Warstein) and Yannick Hanfmann won their second round matches at the ATP Masters in Miami. The two followed Alexander Zverev (Hamburg/No. 4) and Dominik Koepfer (Furtwangen) into the round of the best 32.

Struff, seeded at number 24, defeated his compatriot Daniel Altmaier (Kempen) 6:3, 6:3, the Karlsruher Hanfmann defeated Adrian Mannarino from France, seeded at number 19, 3:6, 7:6 (7:1), 6 :4.

Hanfmann made a comeback in his victory: In the second set, the 32-year-old defeated his opponent in the tiebreak and took the deciding set, even though he had previously given up a 4-1 lead in this one.

The 32-year-old will now play against Grigor Dimitrow (Bulgaria/No. 11) or Alejandro Tabilo (Chile) in the third round. Struff (33) will meet the winner of the duel between Alex de Minaur (Australia/No.9) and Kwon Soon Woo (South Korea).
